United Kingdom Co-Host: Freddy Valentine

Highgate Cemetery VampireFreddie Valentine is in touch with his ying and yang. On one hand he is the polyester clad host of the Karnival of Kitsch with dance moves that brin to mind JohnTravolta before he got fat and on the other, mystical hand, he is a keeper of strange mysteries, seance host and tarot reader! Freddie has been in showbiz a long time, once the leader of retro big band The Paisley Wheelchair Experience, he has been running cabaret nights since 1996 and has worked alongside the greats, even duetting with the legendary Frank Sidebottom at one of his late 90s variety nights! In 2004, Freddie recorded and released the musical comedy album ‘An Intimate Evening With…’ and with his sidekick, Barry Chester, toured the capitals comedy clubs with perhaps the most misunderstood show of all time. After running cabaret shows at The Battersea Barge and the now sadly closed Inn On The Green, Freddie and Holly took up residence at the fabulous Royal Vauxhall Tavern with their latest variety show The Karnival of Kitsch, an evening that aims to bring the mad, the unusual and the eccentric into a huge day-glo mix. The show is very much based on 1970s TV variety specials and as expected is full of cheesy easy listening and pop classics and a diverse range of turns. Unlike many nights running, everything at the Karnival of Kitsch is upbeat, camp and silly and shys away from the current vogue of topical or political comedy. It’s a night of pure escapism.
